Quickly becoming a star with his blazing speed and engaging personality, Lyles has lofty expectations. After winning bronze in the men’s 200m at Tokyo 2020, the 27-year-old is aiming to build on a special performance at the 2023 World Athletics Championship in Budapest, where he won gold in the 100m, 200m, and the 4x100m relay. Lyles became the first man to reach this feat since Usain Bolt in 2015 and he has similar aspirations for Paris, striving for four gold medals. He already has one under his belt, taking gold in the men’s 100m on Sunday, 4 August.

Moon is also looking to build on her excellence at both Tokyo 2020 and the 2023 athletic worlds, winning gold in the women’s pole vault at both competitions. The 33-year-old Ohio native has the opportunity to replicate these strong showings in Paris.

Kite as a sailing category will make its Olympic debut in Paris and so will Moroz, who has won six world championships in the event. The 23-year-old will enter Paris 2024 as one of the favorites to podium in the newly introduced event, most recently winning gold at the 2023 Pan American Games.
